Items ever Hazlet voter should be aware of:
* While other towns are reducing and cutting back on staff, Hazlet
continues to hire, full and part-time positions; in the past 2 years there
has been 8-10 positions filled by friends and relatives of Mr. Lavan and
Mr. Belasco.
* Promises of a new skate park with no cost to the residents; this year a
bond for over $200,000 was past for this skate park and will be paid by
residents.
* Since dissolving the Rent Control Board last year, the legal fees alone has
exceeded 2 1/2 times higher for the same services and leaves 1,800
residents with no place to voice their objections.
* Over $7,000,000 in bonds have been approved by Mr. Lavan and
Mr. Belasco in the past 3 years on programs that benefited their
neighborhoods. West Keansburg wasn't considered for re-paving .
Talks of changing the zip code and unifying West Keansburg and Hazlet
together for 2 years still never completed.
